The Isle of Wight Poet Laureate programme has been created to celebrate Island voices and bring poetry into schools, communities and public spaces over the next two years.

With your support, our Poet Laureate will be able to visit schools, run workshops, take part in community projects and write poems marking the people, places and moments that matter to our Island. We will give particular attention to areas where children face the greatest barriers to literacy and creative opportunities.

Donations will help us cover workshop materials, travel, community events and the creation of an illustrated anthology featuring work by Island children. They will also allow us to offer activities free of charge wherever possible, so that cost does not prevent anyone from taking part.

Every donation, however small, will help us put poetry into more hands and give more people the confidence to share their own words.
